When the stars go blue

Tonight I relived part of my childhood...going to the Phillies game with my family for the fireworks game!!! It's something we've done every year since forever and it is always an interesting/ fun evening. I always slightly hate the idea of going cause who wants to waste a Friday night being seen in public with your parents but in the end I have fun. Karen and Kevin got to join us this year which I prefer since I feel less lame when they are there with me and the folks.
It's weird how tradition works...like how something becomes a tradition. The McGeehan and Pine families have been going to the fireworks game for as long as I can remember and even though we are all old now its one of the few things we didn't eliminate. Even though the whole event isn't as cool or amazing as it probably was when I was like seven its still pretty fun. I mean the Phillies freakin suck but my family never shuts up during the game and our seats are so bad that its basically like just going out for hot dogs and beer!!! And of course the fireworks are the best part...even though I'm not a little kid anymore I still love watching the fireworks!!!! It's just not summer without seeing them and they are still the best fireworks I've ever seen..even better than the ones Philly does for the 4th!!!
Anywayz I kind of went off a little about my evening but I dunno it was just a strange night. It fascinates me how family works. Like how is it possible that you can love you family and think they are completely insane at same time. Perfect example...my family had a touching movie moment as we all sat on the hood/ roof of our car watching the fireworks tonight....skip to ten minutes later my dad is cursing and flipping ppl the bird while driving recklessly through traffic while Karen is screaming from the backseat and Mag is clutching the passenger door!!! So yeah if you think your family is insane...I'm sure I can top it!!! But hey you can't pick your family and I guess when it comes down to it I'd probably pick mine anyway if I could=) Mostly for the entertainment =)
